SNB selects PhoneFactor authentication solution

BBR Staff Writer Published 04 October 2010

Oklahoma-based Stillwater National Bank and Trust Company (SNB), a subsidiary of Southwest Bancorp, has adopted PhoneFactor's authentication solution Universal Banking Gateway to protect its commercial online banking transactions.

With the deployment of PhoneFactor's Universal Banking Gateway, SNB will able to integrate PhoneFactor with its online banking platform getting effective protection in place for customers.

When a transaction is initiated, PhoneFactor calls the customer with details about the transaction. To approve the transaction, the user will have to enter a PIN during the phone call. Because the transaction is verified across the telephone network, it is not vulnerable to malicious code running on the user's computer, PhoneFactor said.

SNB Information Security vice president Laura Briscoe said that PhoneFactor's transaction verification system offers strong out-of-band security, is easy for customers to use and provides the tools needed to expedite deployment.
