MasterCard, Silver Tail Systems partner to combat online fraud
MasterCard Worldwide and Silver Tail Systems, a provider of web session intelligence, have formed an alliance to focus on leveraging and creating solutions to help combat online fraud.
Through the new alliance, both the firms' will work together to bring fraud solutions to online merchants in the US.
The alliance will enable online merchants to differentiate fraudsters from legitimate consumers.
Silver Tail Systems' technology will be combined with MasterCard's payments experience and insights to allow merchants to spot malware or robotic activity originating from personal computers or smart phones attacking their online payments systems.
MasterCard Worldwide group head of global network products Johan Gerber said that their relationship with Silver Tail Systems allows them to extend beyond the traditional fraud detection methods and provide merchants with a strong defense against fraud, while improving the consumers' online experience.
